2PointZero targets Whoop in $10.1bn funding round alongside Gulf investors

The acquisition marks one of the firm’s most significant transactions since its formation, expanding its exposure to US energy infrastructure through assets linked to major natural gas networks.
In parallel, 2PointZero has also invested in Whoop’s latest funding round, which values the fitness technology company at $10.1bn, alongside other Middle East investors including Mubadala and Qatar Investment Authority.
The dual transactions highlight sustained appetite for international investments from Gulf-based capital, even as regional conflict raises broader economic uncertainty.
2PointZero, which manages approximately $33bn in assets, is part of a wider ecosystem of Abu Dhabi investment entities that collectively oversee more than $2tn in capital.
The firm was established following a restructuring of Abu Dhabi’s corporate landscape, bringing together multiple investment platforms under a single entity.
The acquisition of Traverse Midstream provides exposure to US natural gas infrastructure, including assets transporting energy from key shale regions to major demand centres.
