7X Partners acquires 40% of Leventer Medical to back €25m private oncology hospital in Bucharest
The new facility, Baneasa Tumor Center Hospital, is expected to open in autumn 2025 following a total investment of over €25m ($28.4m). The hospital will feature six operating rooms, 76 beds (with a planned expansion to 100), an 18-room outpatient wing, imaging and oncology departments, and a pathological anatomy laboratory. A superficial radiotherapy unit is also planned in a later phase.
Leonard Leca, lead shareholder of 7X Partners, commented, “The complexity of operations, the opportunity to introduce this integrated model of medical services in Romania, and the desire to directly contribute to improving the quality of life for Romanians led us to make this major and necessary investment alongside Leventer Medical Group.”
Leca brings significant operational and investment experience to the partnership, having held leadership roles at A&D Pharma, Țiriac Holding, and Allianz Țiriac Insurance. He is currently involved in multiple investment ventures, including Holde Agri Invest and Druid.
Leventer Medical Group co-founder Claudiu Opran confirmed the hospital will initially span 10,000 square metres, with a second phase extending it to 12,000 square metres.
Founded in 2012, Leventer Medical currently operates three dermatology clinics in Bucharest. The group initially announced its oncology expansion plans in 2022, with a €10m proposal that has since scaled significantly.
The investment from 7X Partners reflects the growing role of private equity in advancing Romania’s medical infrastructure through long-term capital and strategic support. Learn more about investments in Romania and Eastern Europe by joining the CEE Private Equity Conference in Warsaw.
