Riverwood Capital Management LP (Riverwood Capital), a Menlo Park, California-based technology focused global private equity firm, has raised circa USD 1.3bn in total capital commitments, for its third private equity fund and parallel vehicles including General Partner (GP) commitment, Riverwood Capital Partners III LP (the Fund), according to its filing with the SEC, dated 21 August 2020. 

With the first commitment received in March 2018, the Fund has received commitments from more than 135 investors (LPs). 

To continue the legacy, the Fund is expected to invest in middle-market companies in the technology, technology-enabled, and other related industries, with typical investment size ranges from USD 25mn to USD 125mn per company.

The Fund’s placement agents include Park Hill Group LLC and Brunel Advisors Ltd.

Previously, Riverwood Capital had raised USD 1.2bn for its second private equity fund and parallel vehicles in 2014, according to AnalyzeMarkets Global Deals Database.

The GP:

Established in 2008, Riverwood Capital has raised over USD 3bn in capital commitments to date.

In April this year, AnalyzeMarkets reported Riverwood led USD 93.5mn Series E funding round of ForgeRock Inc, a San Francisco-based digital identity platform.

Last month, Riverwood led USD 32mn Series C funding round of Insider, a Singapore-based digital marketing startup.
