Boston-based private-equity firm, Exeter Capital, is seeking $400 million for its debut fund, and is marketing it despite disruptions from the coronavirus pandemic, people familiar with the matter said.

The consumer-focused private-equity firm was founded in 2018 by a group of former Advent International executives. Exeter’s founders include Managing Directors Steven Collins and Steven Tadler, Director Christopher Doubrava and Principals Julia Adam and Haegin Chang. All previously worked together at Boston-based private-equity firm Advent International.
