LGT Capital Partners has raised $6bn to capture investment opportunities in private equity secondaries across the whole spectrum of investment situations including single assets solutions, private equity fund solutions and diversified portfolios of Limited Partnership interests.
LGT Capital Partners’ second programme focusing on single asset solutions and concentrated fund solutions, Crown Secondaries Special Opportunities II (CSSO II), is closing on 31 May 2021 at its hard cap of $1.5bn. As early as 2015, LGT Capital Partners launched its predecessor program to access this newly identified set of opportunities in private equity secondaries.
Ivan Vercoutere, Managing Partner at LGT Capital Partners, says: “We are pleased to have raised a larger second program to continue providing innovative liquidity solutions to private equity funds and managers. The larger pool of capital and increasing strong deal flow enables us to select from an even broader set of opportunities. We look forward to working with established general partners seeking various liquidity solutions for assets which are well suited for these types of transactions.”
LGT Capital Partners’ dedicated secondaries program Crown Global Secondaries V (CGS V) was also strongly sought after by investors. It is closing at its hard cap of $4.5bn on 31 May 2021.
André Aubert, Partner and co-head of Secondaries at LGT Capital Partners, states: “CGS V will continue the successful investment strategy of our previous secondaries funds, providing liquidity solutions to both investors and fund managers. For the investors in CGS V, we will build well diversified portfolios of private equity assets acquired through limited partnerships interests or complex fund solutions, leveraging our global investment platform and the firm’s established relationships.”
