Global private investment firm Carlyle has agreed to sell British video game developer and publisher Jagex to private markets manager CVC Capital Partners and technology sector-focused private equity firm Haveli Investments.

Carlyle originally invested in Jagex through Carlyle Partners VII, the firm’s flagship US buyout fund, and Carlyle Europe Technology Partners IV, a €1.35bn fund that invests in middle-market technology-focused companies.
The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals.
Morgan Stanley and Aream acted as financial advisors to Carlyle. Goldman Sachs advised the transaction vehicle to be funded by CVC Fund VIII and Haveli.
