CVC appoints John Kelleher as Managing Partner to lead global operations and drive portfolio value
Based in New York, Kelleher will take over global operations responsibilities, focusing on value creation initiatives firmwide.
Kelleher joins CVC with more than 20 years of experience across private equity, corporate transformation, and operational leadership. He most recently served as a Senior Partner in McKinsey & Company’s transformation practice, where he led complex turnarounds in sectors including technology, industrials, infrastructure, and services. His background also includes executive roles at Brookfield Asset Management, CEO positions in private equity-backed firms, and investment banking at Goldman Sachs.
His appointment comes as Jean-Remy Roussel, Managing Partner and Global Head of Operations, prepares to transition to a Senior Adviser role in the first half of 2026. Roussel, who founded CVC’s Operations team 17 years ago, will continue to support portfolio companies where he retains board seats.
Commenting on the transition, CVC CEO Rob Lucas said, “John’s deep operational expertise and proven leadership in complex transformations will further strengthen our ability to support portfolio companies and deliver long-term value to our investors.”
Roussel added, “The time feels right to step back from the Operations team and hand over the reins to John. I’m immensely proud of what we’ve built together.”
Kelleher described joining CVC as “an honour”, adding that he looks forward to driving growth and performance across the firm’s global portfolio.
