Private equity titan Konstantin Sokolov gifts $100m to University of Chicago Booth

Private equity executive and University of Chicago alumnus Konstantin Sokolov has made a $100m donation to the university’s Booth School of Business, marking one of the largest gifts ever to the institution.

The contribution will directly support the school’s Executive MBA Programme, which will be renamed the Sokolov Executive MBA Program in recognition of the gift. Funds will also be used to establish a new clinical professorship focused on executive education.

Sokolov, founder of Chicago-based IJS Investments, began his career at Booth and has since built a prominent presence in the private equity sector. His investment supports a 21-month global MBA curriculum delivered across Booth’s campuses in Chicago, Hong Kong, and London, featuring personalised coaching, leadership workshops, and career development sessions.

“I am immensely proud to be able to support the incredible achievements made by Chicago Booth,” Sokolov said in a statement.

Booth Dean Madhav Rajan praised the gift as a significant milestone. “With Sokolov’s remarkable commitment, the Sokolov Executive MBA Program will continue to educate future generations of leaders,” he said.
