Seven2 launches €1.6bn flagship fund as Thomas de Villeneuve takes helm as CEO
De Villeneuve succeeds Eddie Misrahi, who led Seven2 for over 15 years and oversaw its evolution into a pan-European investment platform managing €5.2bn in assets. During his tenure, the firm expanded its reach across Paris, Milan, Amsterdam, and Munich, with nearly 100 professionals and a diversified strategy spanning small-cap, mid-cap, evergreen, and retail funds.
The newly launched Seven2 MidMarket Fund XI will target majority stakes in mid-sized companies across core markets including France, Benelux, Italy, and the DACH region. The fund maintains the proven investment strategy of its predecessor and will focus on 16 priority B2B technology and services sub-sectors.
Thomas de Villeneuve, who has been with Seven2 since 2001 and became Managing Partner in 2024, said: “All partners and teams are intensely committed to contributing to the next chapter of Seven2’s long history. With our re-affirmed DNA, and enhanced operating system, accelerating performance and impact, we are prepared to successfully raise and deploy the 11th vintage of our flagship fund.”
De Villeneuve has led or co-led more than a dozen transactions in the tech and telecom sectors, including investments in Altran Technologies, Infopro Digital, Expereo, Melita, and Graitec.
The launch of MMXI also reflects Seven2’s continued emphasis on operational transformation, particularly in AI adoption and sustainability. The fund is expected to benefit from the firm’s upgraded model developed over recent years.
