Partners Group brings CVC on board with 20% stake in global schools platform ISP

CVC Strategic Opportunities has agreed to acquire a 20% stake in International Schools Partnership (ISP), one of the world’s largest K-12 school groups, joining existing shareholders Partners Group and OMERS. Partners Group will remain the majority investor.

Founded in 2013 by Partners Group and ISP’s management, the platform has grown to educate more than 110,000 students across 111 schools in 25 countries. Its expansion strategy combines acquisitions of high-quality schools with investment in a differentiated learning approach focused on academic progress as well as language, digital, and life skills.

The new shareholder group will support ISP’s next phase of growth through the addition of new schools, the rollout of proprietary education technology, and expansion of school infrastructure to enhance the student experience.

Steve Brown, CEO of ISP, said: “ISP’s schools seek to be the ‘school of choice’ in their area. We seek to cultivate lifelong learners who possess the resilience, adaptability, and self-belief to navigate a changing world and future working environments. As we reflect on our growth to-date, we look forward to welcoming our new shareholders at CVC on board and continuing our mission.”

Jan Reinier Voûte, Managing Partner and Co-Head of CVC Strategic Opportunities, added: “We are excited to embark on our partnership with ISP, one of the world’s leading K-12 education platforms. The K-12 sector, and ISP in particular, is an excellent fit for our Strategic Opportunities strategy, which focuses on supporting value creation in long-term partnership investments.”

Andrew Deakin, Partner at Partners Group, described ISP as “one of our proudest achievements as a private equity platform,” highlighting its transformation from an idea into a global education leader over the past decade.
