Cerberus hires former US cyber ambassador to scale defence strategy

Cerberus Capital Management has appointed Nathaniel Fick as chief strategy officer for equities, creating a new role focused on defence and national security investments.

Fick will oversee global investments across private equity and venture capital. He will work closely with venture head Chris Darby and report to chief executive Frank Bruno.

Cerberus manages around $70bn and has expanded investments linked to supply chains, aerospace, and cybersecurity. Recent deals include Votaw Precision Technologies and Nudge Security.

Fick previously served as US ambassador-at-large for cyberspace and digital policy. He also led cybersecurity firm Endgame.

Cerberus said the appointment strengthens its ability to identify opportunities tied to economic and national security priorities.
