Advent International completes Sauer Brands acquisition, appoints new CEO

Advent International finalized its acquisition of Sauer Brands from Falfurrias Capital Partners, solidifying its position in the condiments and seasonings market.

The deal, previously announced, marks a new chapter for the company, though financial details remain undisclosed.

Advent, a global private equity powerhouse, aims to elevate Sauer Brands’ portfolio, which includes Duke’s Mayo, Mateo’s Gourmet Salsa, and Kernel Season’s. “We are thrilled to welcome Sauer Brands and build upon its success,” said Tricia Glynn, Managing Partner at Advent.

As part of the transition, Sauer Brands has appointed E. Yuri Hermida as Chief Executive Officer, effective March 12. Hermida brings decades of experience in scaling consumer brands, having held leadership roles at Constellation Brands, Sovos Brands, and Reckitt. He most recently served as EVP, Chief Growth and Strategy Officer at Constellation Brands.

Todd Lachman, former CEO of Sovos Brands, will serve as Chair of Sauer Brands’ Board of Directors. “With Yuri’s expertise and leadership, Sauer Brands is well-positioned for its next growth phase,” Lachman said.

Hermida expressed enthusiasm about joining the company at a pivotal moment, highlighting Sauer’s 140-year legacy of delivering trusted, high-quality condiments and seasonings. “I look forward to expanding our reach and driving the next phase of growth alongside the talented Sauer team and Advent,” he said.

Morgan Stanley & Co. LLC and William Blair & Company, L.L.C. advised Sauer Brands, while Advent was advised by Centerview Partners LLC. Legal counsel was provided by McGuireWoods LLP for Sauer Brands and Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP for Advent.
