Antares Capital launches $1.4bn private credit fund targeting PE-backed middle-market firms

Antares Capital introduced the Antares Private Credit Fund, a non-traded business development company, with more than $1.4bn in investable capital.

The alternative credit manager, which oversees approximately $80bn in capital, structured the fund to provide investors with access to senior secured floating rate loans to private-equity-owned, middle-market companies across the US.

ABDC has attracted commitments from a diverse group of global investors, including insurance companies, banks, family offices, and pension plans. Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPP Investments), Antares’ majority owner, is also a key backer of the fund.

Antares aims for ABDC to generate current income and strong risk-adjusted returns by leveraging its expertise in middle-market lending. Managed by Antares Capital Credit Advisers LLC, the fund will be accessible to financial advisors across the US once all state registrations are finalized.
