Anthropic is attracting investor offers that could value the artificial intelligence company at more than $800bn, according to reports by Bloomberg and Business Insider.

The potential funding round, which remains under early-stage discussion, would more than double the company’s previous $350bn valuation and position it among the most valuable technology companies globally.

Anthropic’s rapid growth has been driven by strong uptake among corporate clients, with the company reaching a $30bn annual revenue run-rate in recent months. This performance has intensified competition with peers such as OpenAI and reinforced investor confidence in the scalability of AI-driven business models.

The company is also exploring a potential public listing as early as October, offering an additional pathway for investors to gain exposure to the sector.

However, uncertainty remains over whether Anthropic will proceed with a new funding round at the proposed valuation levels, or accept the terms put forward by investors.
