Funds managed by Apollo have made a strategic investment in pipeline infrastructure specialist T.D. Williamson (TDW), joining existing majority owner SCF Partners in supporting the company’s next phase of growth.
SCF Partners, which acquired TDW in 2022, will retain majority ownership following the transaction. The investment will enable TDW to expand its global reach and continue developing its technology-led solutions in pipeline maintenance, integrity, and optimisation.
Founded over 100 years ago, TDW holds more than 500 patents and operates across both onshore and offshore markets, serving clients in pipeline isolation, pigging, and in-line integrity assessment.
“This investment by Apollo Funds, alongside our existing relationship with SCF Partners, marks a significant milestone as we continue to invest in meeting the needs of our customers through innovation and expanding our global reach,” said Bob McGrew, CEO of TDW.
Scott Browning, Partner at Apollo, added, “We look forward to supporting TDW management and SCF to accelerate strategic growth initiatives that contribute to the safety, reliability, and efficiency of energy infrastructure.”
SCF Managing Director Deviyani Misra-Godwin praised TDW’s growth trajectory since the 2022 acquisition, citing advances in technology, customer engagement, and operational excellence.
Legal counsel for the deal included Vinson & Elkins LLP for TDW and SCF, and Kirkland & Ellis LLP for Apollo.
