Ardian exits landmark Paris asset following successful repositioning strategy
The exit marks a major milestone for the private investment firm, which acquired the property in 2018 via its Ardian Real Estate European Fund I.
Formerly the headquarters of the Europe 1 radio station, the building underwent a large-scale transformation under Ardian’s stewardship. The firm led a complex redevelopment to convert the historic site into a high-end, mixed-use space for office and retail, aligning it with modern sustainability and performance standards.
Today, the Renaissance building hosts a premium tenant mix, including law firm A&O Shearman, art gallery Hauser & Wirth, fashion house Issey Miyake, and Jaguar Land Rover.
“This project stands out for the uniqueness of its location and the exceptional quality of execution,” said Sébastien Bégué, Head of Real Estate Investment Management and Managing Director at Ardian. “It is a benchmark in the core market, demonstrating strong liquidity even in a subdued transaction environment.”
Stéphanie Bensimon, Member of the Executive Committee and Head of Real Estate at Ardian, added: “The sale of Renaissance is a clear demonstration of Ardian’s ability to anticipate investor needs and create value from emblematic properties. It also reflects renewed investor appetite for high-quality assets in a recovering European market.”
This successful exit underscores Ardian’s expertise in the value creation process for prime real estate and further strengthens its track record in repositioning landmark assets across Europe.
