Asterion considers partial exit from Retelit via data centre sale

The Italian fibre operator, owned by Asterion Industrial Partners, is in the early stages of deliberations and could bring the asset to market by early next year. No final decision has been made.
Retelit said it has not initiated any formal sale process and added that data centres remain integral to its strategy. The company is pursuing a €370m investment programme across its fibre and data centre footprint.
Retelit operates 38 data centres across Italy and serves telecom operators, enterprises, and cloud providers. Milan has emerged as a key hub for southern European data centre development, attracting interest from hyperscalers and infrastructure investors.
A sale would allow Retelit to reduce debt and lock in profits following strong valuation momentum across digital infrastructure assets, a sector that has become a priority for private equity and long-term capital.
