These divestments align with United Group’s strategy to concentrate on its core European Union markets, where it sees strong growth potential in converged mobile and fixed telecom services.
The sales include Serbian pay-TV, broadband, and fixed telephone provider SBB doo Belgrade, as well as NetTV Plus, which operates across the Western Balkans and holds sports and business broadcasting rights. United Group had also signed a non-binding agreement for the potential sale of Telemach BH in Bosnia and Telemach Crna Gora in Montenegro.
BC Partners Europe chairman Nikos Stathopoulos highlighted the company’s transformation under BC’s ownership, noting that strategic initiatives to expand into new markets, optimize operations, and enhance capital structure have led to a near fourfold increase in EBITDA, reaching approximately €1bn. He added that the latest divestments will enable United Group to focus entirely on its EU-based business, leveraging its strong position in mobile and broadband infrastructure for further expansion.
The sales mark a significant shift for United Group as it refines its geographic footprint, reinforcing its commitment to European telecom markets while streamlining operations in non-EU regions.
