BlackRock Real Assets has raised €1.4bn for Global Infrastructure Solutions 4 (GIS 4), its latest private infrastructure equity fund.
The manager said BlackRock Infrastructure Solutions, its infrastructure multi-manager investment arm, has closed GIS 4 after receiving capital commitments from institutional investors across Europe, North America, and Asia Pacific.
GIS 4 primarily targets brownfield infrastructure investments in ”developed markets benefitting from secular, long-term trends such as digitalisation, decarbonisation, and decentralisation”, BlackRock said.

The manager said the fund has already committed close to half of its capital into investments.
Serge Lauper, the global head of BlackRock Infrastructure Solutions, said: “We are delighted to have reached a successful final close for our flagship multi-manager infrastructure fund.
”We believe this result reflects strong investor demand for increasing their infrastructure allocations to quality portfolios, especially given the attractive characteristics of the asset class and alignment with long-term sustainability objectives.”
