Coller Capital hires Alexander Ordon to lead private wealth secondaries push in Australia and New Zealand

Coller Capital appointed Alexander Ordon as Director for Australia and New Zealand, strengthening the firm’s private wealth distribution network following the launch of its private credit secondaries fund earlier this year.

Based in Sydney, Ordon will be responsible for deepening relationships with private wealth managers and family offices across the region. The move comes as institutional and private investors increasingly seek access to secondaries strategies offering diversification, liquidity, and downside protection.

“I’m excited to join Coller Capital, a recognised global leader in private markets secondaries,” said Ordon. “Private wealth investors in Australia and New Zealand increasingly seek solutions that require liquidity, diversification and risk mitigation. Coller’s strong local presence and global expertise position us well to meet this growing demand.”

Ordon joins from L1 Capital and previously held senior roles at JP Morgan Asset Management, Credit Suisse, and Netwealth. His appointment comes two months after Coller Capital launched its global private credit secondaries fund, part of a broader strategy to expand the firm’s alternative offerings for private wealth clients.

David Hallifax, Head of Private Wealth Distribution for Australia and New Zealand at Coller Capital, said: “Alex’s deep understanding of the private wealth market in Australia and New Zealand, coupled with his strong relationships with investors, will be critical to our expansion efforts. The recent launch of our private equity and private credit secondaries funds in Australia reflects our commitment to the region and its growing appetite for secondaries.”
