Omnes Capital, a €6bn Paris-based private equity firm investing across energy transition and innovation, has completed its acquisition of a majority shareholding in EEF Erneuerbare Energien Fabrik (EEF), a German developer of energy solutions with locations in Berlin, Hamburg and Wiesbaden.
Omnes’s investment was realised through its fifth renewable energy-focused fund, Capenergie 5.
According to a press release, the investment in EEF is intended to drive its ‘energy transition 2.0’ strategy and the decarbonisation of the energy market through the development, implementation and long-term operation of renewable energy projects. EEF will continue to be led by Co-Partners and Managing Directors Roman Bredlow, Niklas Hinz and Nigel Nyirenda.
Omnes’s portfolio includes Jimmy, a developer and operator of nuclear reactors; Redman, a French low-carbon property developer; Gourmey, a developer of cultivated meat; and The Exploration Company, a developer and manufacturer of affordable space exploration vehicles.
ARQIS acted as legal advisor to Omnes Capital and Lighthouse Legal acted as legal advisor to EEF.
