EQT takes control of South Korea’s LinkedIn rival Remember in $396m deal
The private equity firm is purchasing a 47% stake from Seoul-based Ark & Partners, marking Ark’s exit just three years after acquiring the business for 110bn won ($79m). EQT is also in discussions with other major shareholders, including Line Plus and Saramin HR, to increase its ownership. JPMorgan advised Ark & Partners on the transaction.
Founded in 2011, Remember has evolved from a digital business card app into a full-service career platform, offering recruitment, training, and professional networking tools. Under Ark & Partners’ ownership, the company pursued an aggressive expansion strategy, acquiring Liahnson & Company, Superookie, Jasoseol.com, and Brisk & Young Associates.
In 2024, Remember generated 68.4bn won in revenue, nearly double the prior year, though operating losses widened. The platform has reported monthly operating profits since October 2024 and is forecast to deliver 8bn won EBITDA in 2025.
EQT plans to leverage its global network and technology expertise to accelerate Remember’s growth, positioning it as a stronger regional competitor to LinkedIn. The firm will focus on expanding its recruitment, training, and career management services while unlocking the value of its extensive data assets.
