HarbourView partners with ColorCreative to scale women-led storytelling powerhouse
The move marks a significant expansion of HarbourView’s portfolio into multicultural, creator-led content platforms.
The partnership will support ColorCreative’s transformation into a fully integrated, independent studio with global ambitions. ColorCreative will retain its leadership under president Talitha Watkins, with Issa Rae continuing to provide creative and strategic guidance. The company’s first projects under the new structure are expected to go into production in early 2026.
“Partnering with HarbourView allows us to dream even bigger,” said Rae. “We remain committed to supporting the kinds of projects that made us fall in love with storytelling.”
Founded in 2014 to close opportunity gaps for underrepresented creatives, ColorCreative has established itself as a launchpad for cross-platform talent in scripted, unscripted, commercial, and event-driven content. Its recent production, One of Them Days, became the top film at the box office on its release weekend and reached #1 on Netflix in April.
The deal represents one of HarbourView’s first institutional investments in a multicultural, women-led company. “ColorCreative has proven that bold, creatively-driven content – especially stories rooted in Black culture – has the power to captivate audiences worldwide,” said Sherrese Clarke Soares, Founder and CEO of HarbourView.
HarbourView currently manages $2.67bn in regulatory assets and has been actively investing in content-driven businesses since its 2021 launch. With over 70 music catalogues and a growing footprint in media and entertainment, the firm sees ColorCreative as a key driver in its mission to back scalable IP and culturally resonant storytelling.
