J.P. Morgan has named Anthony Diamandakis as Vice Chair of its Strategic Investors Group, a move aimed at strengthening the bank’s relationships with major financial sponsors, including private equity funds, sovereign wealth funds, and family offices.
Diamandakis brings nearly three decades of investment banking experience, having spent the last 11 years at Citigroup in senior dealmaking roles, following a 17-year career at Credit Suisse.
In his new position, he will report to Avery Whidden, Global Head of J.P. Morgan’s Infrastructure and Strategic Investors Group.
The appointment signals J.P. Morgan’s ongoing focus on expanding its engagement with asset managers driving many of the world’s largest transactions. Financial sponsors now command trillions in deployable capital and remain pivotal players in global M&A markets.
Diamandakis’ hire underscores the bank’s intention to capitalise on sponsor-led deal flow and deepen strategic ties with the alternative investment community.
