K-beauty surge draws Blackstone to South Korean hair care leader Juno
Founded in 1982, Juno operates more than 180 salons across South Korea and has expanded overseas with outlets in Singapore, Vietnam, and the Philippines, as well as partnerships in Japan and Thailand. Founder and CEO Yun-Seon Kang will remain in her role to lead the company’s next phase of expansion.
“Blackstone brings unique scale and a global platform, which will help drive our expansion and solidify our leadership in K-beauty,” Kang said.
The deal marks Blackstone’s fourth private equity investment in South Korea. “We are seeing explosive global demand for Korean beauty services,” said Sonny Park, Principal at Blackstone Private Equity. “Consumer beauty and wellness services are an important investment theme for Blackstone’s private equity business in Asia.”
Eugene Cook, Head of Korea at Blackstone Private Equity, added that the firm’s strategy in the region is centred on partnering with entrepreneurs and family-owned businesses to accelerate growth.
The transaction underscores the increasing role of private equity in backing Asia’s fast-growing beauty and wellness industry, with South Korea continuing to emerge as a global leader in the sector.
