KKR leads $90m Coder funding to scale enterprise AI development infrastructure

The round, which also includes QRT, Uncork Capital, and existing investors, underscores growing demand for platforms that allow organisations to build and deploy software in secure, standardised environments.
Coder provides a cloud-based development platform that integrates AI tools into governed workflows, enabling enterprises to improve consistency, accelerate onboarding, and maintain control over software development processes.
“Software development is undergoing a fundamental shift, driven by the move to the cloud and the rapid adoption of AI, with more than 80% of enterprise developers today using or planning to use coding agents in their daily workflows,” said Ben Pederson, Managing Director at KKR.
The investment will support continued platform innovation, with a focus on enterprise AI workflows and governance capabilities, as well as expansion across Europe, Asia, and North America.
KKR has already deployed the platform internally, rolling it out to more than 500 engineers and integrating AI-assisted coding tools into its development processes.
“Coder has fundamentally changed how we approach software development at KKR, particularly as we integrate AI into our workflows,” said Ruchir Swarup, Chief Information Officer at KKR.
The company has experienced strong growth, reporting 300% year-on-year bookings expansion and increasing adoption across enterprise customers.
