The Australia expansion allows eligible investors to access funds from top managers like KKR, EQT, and the Carlyle Group with lower investment minimums.

Moonfare’s portfolio investments provide diversified exposure across buyout, growth equity, venture, and infrastructure. The platform also offers opportunities in secondaries, private credit, and co-investments. Family offices and institutional-scale investors can directly invest in select companies alongside leading general partners.

Moonfare’s founder and co-CEO, Steffen Pauls, noted the increasing demand for private equity in Australia but highlighted the limited access to international managers. “Moonfare’s digital private equity platform fills that gap by offering seamless access to top global managers,” he said.

Investors benefit from a secondary market feature, with a biannual auction facilitated by Lexington Partners. This mechanism lets them buy and sell stakes in Moonfare’s funds, enhancing liquidity.

With over €3.3bn ($3.4bn) in assets under management and nearly 5,000 investors, Moonfare has built a global network of 71,000 family offices, industrial families, and private investors. Now present in 23 countries, the firm continues its global expansion.

Adam Banks, Moonfare’s Asia-Pacific head, said, “Our APAC investor relations team is actively engaging with potential clients in Australia. We look forward to expanding our presence and bringing the Moonfare experience to more eligible investors.”

In 2024, Moonfare introduced a direct investment programme, enabling investors to co-invest in select companies with top general partners. With its entry into Australia, the firm aims to broaden access to private equity for high-net-worth individuals and institutions in the region.
