Munich Private Equity launches Germany’s first BaFin-approved ELTIF
The newly established fund of funds allows retail investors to invest in a diverse portfolio of privately held mid-market companies across the European Union, with a minimum investment threshold of €5,000. The fund’s investment strategy focuses on the lower mid-market, exclusively targeting companies and funds within the EU.
Norman Lemke, CEO of Munich Private Equity, highlighted the firm’s long-standing expertise in making private equity accessible to retail investors. “We have been offering retail investors access to private equity through our German asset management company since 1999 and have a long history of constructive and successful cooperation with BaFin in the area of product approval. This is why we are issuing our first ELTIF in our core market,” he stated.
The MPE Mid Market Private Equity ELTIF follows a security-oriented fund-of-funds approach, ensuring broad diversification across multiple institutional private equity target funds. This structure allows retail investors to gain exposure to a wide range of medium-sized businesses across different industries and EU regions.
Two initial target fund investments have already been completed, positioning the ELTIF for further expansion as it builds a robust portfolio aligned with its strategic focus.
