Mutares acquires temperature-controlled logistics firm Fuentes from Lineage Group

Mutares has agreed to acquire Spanish logistics operator Fuentes from Lineage Group, further expanding its Goods & Services segment with a new platform investment.

The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter of 2025, pending regulatory approvals.

Headquartered in Murcia, one of Europe’s leading agricultural hubs, Fuentes specialises in temperature-controlled logistics, with a strong focus on fresh produce such as fruit and vegetables. The company provides national, international, and last-mile transport across the full food supply chain and is projected to generate €200m in revenue in 2025.

Fuentes operates with a fleet of more than 480 trucks and 540 trailers, supplemented by a subcontractor network of over 3,000 partners. The firm employs around 850 people and also runs facilities in other parts of Spain, as well as an international hub in Vlissingen, the Netherlands.

We are excited to announce another transaction within the logistics sector to strengthen our European presence in this platform,” said Johannes Laumann, CIO of Mutares. “Together with the Mutares team and our profound expertise, we see great potential based on an operational improvement plan as well as a positive outlook for the Spanish logistics market and rising retail demand, to sustainably position Fuentes for the future.

The deal strengthens Mutares’ strategic position in food logistics and continues its active buy-and-build approach within the segment.
