Mutares signs dual Magna carve-outs to build $320m automotive platform

The deals, expected to close in Q2 2026, will add approximately $320m in combined revenues, strengthening Mutares’ Automotive & Mobility segment and advancing its midterm exit strategy.
The first acquisition targets Magna’s European automotive lighting business, which generates around $235m in revenue and will be integrated into Amaneos’ Light Mobility Solutions platform. The move enhances the platform’s capabilities across exterior modules and advanced lighting technologies.
In parallel, Mutares will acquire Magna’s car top systems business, contributing approximately $85m in revenue and reinforcing the HiLo Group’s expertise in roof and exterior systems. The combination expands system depth and enables more integrated product offerings for OEM customers.
“Both acquisitions represent a decisive step in building scalable, high-performance platforms within our Automotive & Mobility segment and make them ready for midterm exits,” said Johannes Laumann, CIO of Mutares, in an emailed statement. “This puts us on track to achieve our 2026 goals of Group revenues between EUR 7.9 billion and EUR 9.1 billion as well as a Holding net income from EUR 165 million to EUR 200 million, and an annual growth in Group revenues and Holding net income of 25% by 2030.”
The transactions are expected to generate operational and commercial synergies, while enhancing Mutares’ positioning as a one-stop supplier for integrated exterior systems.
