O2 Investment Partners — a private equity firm investing in growth-oriented, privately-held businesses in the North American lower middle market — announces the final closing of O2 Investment Partners Fund III with $270 million in capital commitments.
O2 leverages its family office roots to partner with the entrepreneurial management teams of family- and founder-owned businesses that the Firm believes are well-positioned for long-term growth.
Todd Fink, Managing Partner of O2 said: “We appreciate the confidence that our investors continue to place in our team and strategy in light of the challenges that the world is currently facing, and we are also grateful for the ongoing support of the talented entrepreneurs and management teams who choose to partner with us. In our view, the timing of Fund III is excellent as we continue to see significant deal flow. Fund III just closed its third platform investment and has a strong pipeline of new opportunities.”
Mr. Fink added, “The Metric Point team provided us with great advice that allowed us to navigate a challenging fundraising environment. We appreciate their partnership and look forward to working together in the future.”
James Weidner, Partner at Metric Point, stated, “The O2 team plays an important role in the lower middle market, partnering with entrepreneurs and management teams to help execute their strategic visions and continued growth plans. We are pleased to have assisted O2 in achieving its fundraising goals as the Firm welcomed a diverse group of investors to the fund.” Raj Vora, Partner at Metric Point, added, “It was gratifying to work so closely with limited partners as they adapted to underwriting the O2 offering and performing their due diligence remotely amidst the pandemic.”
O2, headquartered in the Detroit metropolitan area, was founded in 2010 by its team of experienced professionals, each with a tenured track record of investing in and operating small businesses. O2 seeks to acquire controlling interests in lower middle market business-to-business services, technology, and select niche industrial companies.
The Firm seeks to invest in businesses with earnings growth potential and a clear path to the creation of shareholder value.
Metric Point Capital (“Metric Point”) served as the exclusive placement agent for the fundraise. Kirkland & Ellis LLP provided legal counsel.
