OMERS taps former Temasek executive to lead $19bn private equity division

“Alexander is a growth-focused leader with deep experience in leading strong teams and building businesses, having had much success with top global firms,” said Berg in a statement.
OMERS, which manages approximately C$27.5bn ($19.1bn) in private equity assets, has recently adjusted its strategy. In 2023, the pension fund halted direct private equity investments in Europe, opting to invest alongside partners and third-party managers. It also launched a global funds strategy within its newly created Private Capital group.
Fraser joins from 65 Equity Partners, where he was a founding partner and led U.S. investments for the Temasek-backed private equity initiative. Previously, he was a partner at Bridgepoint Group Plc, where he co-led technology investments.
As OMERS refines its private equity strategy, Fraser’s leadership will be key in expanding the fund’s global presence and deepening its investment partnerships.
