Partners Group hires Leonard Green veteran to co-lead $13.2bn healthcare strategy

Partners Group has appointed Pete Zippelius as Co-Head of its Private Equity Health & Life vertical, as the private equity firm strengthens its leadership team in a key growth sector.

Zippelius will join in September 2026 and will co-lead the strategy alongside Benjamin Breier, with responsibility for originating and executing investments as well as driving value creation across the portfolio.

The appointment comes as Partners Group continues to scale its healthcare platform, where it has invested approximately $13.2bn to date across healthcare services, life sciences, and medical technology.

Zippelius joins from Leonard Green & Partners, where he served as Investment Partner and led around $8bn of equity investments in healthcare and life sciences across multiple strategies.

“Pete brings deep sector expertise and a proven track record of building and scaling high-quality healthcare and life sciences businesses,” said Wolf Scheider, Head of Private Equity at Partners Group.

Prior to Leonard Green, Zippelius held senior roles in healthcare investment banking, including positions at JPMorgan, Deutsche Bank, and Morgan Stanley, advising on global healthcare transactions.

Partners Group said the appointment reflects its continued focus on thematic investing, particularly in sectors supported by demographic trends, innovation, and healthcare system transformation.

The hire follows recent senior appointments across its private equity business, underscoring the firm’s efforts to enhance sector expertise and drive long-term value creation.
