Pictet raises $440m for first direct private equity fund targeting founder-led businesses

The fund, Pictet Private Equity Entrepreneur Capital I, will target founder- and family-owned businesses across DACH and the UK, with a focus on sectors benefiting from long-term structural growth, including B2B services and education.
The strategy centres on partnering closely with management teams to drive value creation through technology transformation, enhanced go-to-market capabilities, and buy-and-build expansion.
“The successful closing of our first fund marks an important milestone for direct private equity at Pictet,” said Edmund Buckley, Head of Direct Private Equity at Pictet Alternative Advisors.
The fund has already deployed capital across five investments, including Pareto FM, a UK-based technical services provider, Technology Services Group, a Microsoft-focused managed services platform, QGroup, a German cyber-security services business, and Tretor, a Swiss accounting firm forming part of a broader consolidation strategy.
The investor base includes institutional investors, pension funds, family offices, and entrepreneurs, highlighting strong demand for lower mid-market direct private equity exposure.
