Real estate private-equity company Gaw Capital Partners has raised $1.2bn for a new Asia-Pacific focused fund.
The new fund, Gateway Real Estate Fund VII, is Gaw Capital’s seventh Asia-Pacific real-estate fund, it said Wednesday. The company is aiming a total investment of up to $2.5 billion for the fund, which would make it the company’s largest to date.
Gaw Capital also raised an additional $400 million for sidecar co-investments.

Investors in the Gateway Real Estate Fund VII include sovereign-wealth funds, endowments, pension funds and other institutional investors.
The new fund will target investment opportunities in real-estate assets mainly in Asia-Pacific, including markets such as China, Japan, Vietnam, South Korea, Singapore, and Australia. Fund VII will also focus on life science and medical-related assets, data centers, logistics warehouses, certain retail and outlet malls and education-related assets, Gaw Capital said.
