Quantum Energy Partners raised more than $1.6bn for a fund dedicated to helping energy companies develop their oil fields and other assets.
The fund invests in drilling partnerships and other types of deals with energy companies. Founded in 1998, Quantum Energy Partners is a leading provider of private equity capital to the global energy industry.
The Houston private equity firm this month wrapped up QL Capital Partners LP above a $1.5bn target it set for the fund, said people familiar with the matter. More than 40 investors backed the fund, one of the people said. One, the Oregon Investment Council, a state pension manager, pledged $200m, according to public documents.
