Recently formed private equity firm Rainier Partners is targeting $250m for its debut fund, according to people familiar with the fundraising effort.
The firm’s co-founders were childhood friends and are former Altamont Capital executives. Managing partners Jon Altman and Alex Rolfe co-founded the Seattle-based buyout firm last year. The childhood friends both previously worked for Altamont Capital Partners and started their careers as Bain & Co. consultants.
Rainier Partners is a private equity firm rooted in the Pacific Northwest that invests in businesses in the lower middle market, primarily in the Western US and Canada. Rainier’s principals have deep experience investing in businesses across verticals including Business Services, Financial Services, Industrial Services and Consumer Services. Rainier’s approach is to develop a partnership with owners and management teams, combined with an open, collaborative form of communication, that allows businesses to accelerate their profit growth
