Warburg Pincus targets $8bn egg empire with $1bn investment

The investment will be executed through Warburg’s Capital Solutions Founders Fund and could be announced as soon as Monday. Final terms and timing remain subject to change. Representatives for both parties declined to comment.
Founded in 2018, Global Eggs has grown into one of the world’s largest egg producers, operating businesses in Brazil, Europe, and the US. The company produces more than 13bn eggs annually. It is controlled by Brazilian entrepreneur Ricardo Faria, known as the “Egg King.”
The investment follows Global Eggs’ $1.1bn acquisition of US-based Hillandale Farms last year, further expanding its footprint in the North American market.
The prospective transaction underscores private equity appetite for scaled consumer staples platforms with global operations and stable demand dynamics. If completed, the $8bn valuation would position Global Eggs among the largest agrifood platforms backed by private capital in recent years.
